It’s Gotta Be The Shoes

Is it an overreaction to say that Justin Blackmon stole Andrew Luck’s spotlight during last night’s Fiesta Bowl? Eight receptions for 186 yards and three touchdowns. One touchdown went for 43 yards, another for 67 and the final touchdown reception was a measly 17 yarder.

Every year there’s a few players who parlay spectacular bowl performances into higher draft positions. Blackmon was already the top prospect of this wide receiver class but how much more will he benefit from his performance in the national spotlight? History shows we are tainted by a recency bias. Perhaps Blackmon will warrant a Julio Jones type of bounty?

And from now on, we’re all calling him “Mars”, right?
